Free Health Clinic Now Available for Eligible Local 25 Members & Plan Participants

Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 25 is proud to announce the opening of its new Health and Wellness Center, a partnership with Activate by Everside Health.

Wellness Center

The clinic, located at 1901 52nd Avenue in Moline, offers an enhanced healthcare experience to Local 25 health plan participants and their dependents, estimated at nearly 3,800 people. It’s an easier, more convenient option for everything from preventive screenings to chronic condition management, to mental health and more. The best part: It’s free. No co-pays, no deductibles and no co-insurance to health plan participants.

The nearly $2.5 million project took more than two years of planning and four months of renovations to the existing building. Local 25 and other local building trades worked together with general contractor Hodge Construction under an IMPACT project labor agreement. The health center includes a laboratory, pharmacy, consult room and four exam rooms, as well as the new Local 25 benefits office. A local chiropractor also rents space in the facility.

“The Local 25 Trustees have made this commitment on behalf of the membership because we believe healthcare should be affordable and accessible through all stages of life,” said Matt Lienen, Local 25 Business Manager. “Choosing a partnership with Activate by Everside Health made sense for us because they have a long history of serving union members and improving health outcomes. Offering this valuable service will also save our union health plan a considerable amount of money in the long-term.”

Benefits of visiting the health center include:

- Unrushed, dedicated appointment time with primary care provider, Dr. Robert Knudson

- Nutrition and fitness coaching

- Onsite labs and prescriptions

- Easy registration and appointment scheduling

- In-person and virtual care for adults and children

- Reciprocal access to more than 300 Everside Health locations nationwide, including Rockford and Peoria

- Free to members: No co-pays, no deductibles and no co-insurance

Along with Dr. Knudson, the clinic is staffed by Misty Vesey, Clinical Operations Supervisor; Emily Wangler, NCMA; and Nicole Wilson, CMA.

“Direct primary care is the way family practice is meant to be,” said Dr. Knudson. “It puts the patient first, is a lot more personal and you really get to know your family doctor. My goal isn’t just to help you live long, but to help you live long and healthy.”

It’s easy to message or meet with your provider using the Everside Health app, available for free download in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Appointments can also be scheduled directly through the app or by calling 309-324-4515. Members can also visit members.eversidehealth.com and click on “Sign up” to start an account.

FAQs

Who is eligible?

All members and plan participants covered by the Local Union 25 Health & Welfare plan are eligible to receive Everside services.

Do I have to make Everside my primary care provider to use the services?

No. Everside is an optional benefit that functions as an add-on to your existing health plan. You don’t need to switch providers or stop seeing a preferred specialist — you can see Everside providers as well as your existing provider.

Does using Everside services increase my healthcare costs?

No, it should do just the opposite. By visiting the Local 25 Health & Wellness Center, you’re saving yourself an expensive trip to the emergency room or urgent care, and visits are at NO COST for preventive and non-preventive services. There may also be some tests and procedures billed to your primary insurance at rates much lower than with other providers.
