Bill Allison has taken new role as IPTA Executive Director

After 10 years working at Local 25, we’re thrilled to announce Brother Bill Allison has taken on a new role as Executive Director of the Illinois Pipe Trades Association. He began his duties with the start of the new year.

“I am extremely excited and eager to get to work statewide with our IPTA legislative director, officers, executive board and affiliated locals on behalf of our membership, which consists of over 25,000 of the highest-skilled pipefitters, plumbers, sprinkler fitters, pipeliners and HVACR techs,” Bill said.

Bill got his start in the industry as a helper, then earned his apprenticeship in 2004. Shortly after achieving journeyman status, he was elected as a delegate to both the Illinois Pipe Trades and the UA Convention, then elected Local 25 president in 2012. Since 2013, he has served the Local 25 membership as the Quad Cities Business Agent.

“I’m not sure where to begin; Brother Allison has positively impacted our local in so many ways: Business Agent, Trustee, UA Convention Delegate, Illinois Pipe Trades Delegate, LMCC, Negotiations Committee, Organizing Committee, By-Law Committee and PAC Committee, just to name a few,” said Matt Lienen, Business Manager. “Whether we needed a task to get done, help with a technological issue or just some sound advice, we could always count on Brother Allison. It has been an honor to serve with Bill for the last 10 years and we wish him nothing but the best.”

Although he won’t physically be working in the Local 25 Union Office anymore, Local 25 members will still benefit from his leadership as he works to fight for sensible policy that helps all IPTA members and the overall economy.

“Mostly, I will miss the daily direct interaction with Local 25’s officers, members, training staff, benefits staff, contractors and our other industry partners — all of whom I’ve formed great relationships and friendships with,” Bill said.

Congratulations, Bill! We look forward to continuing our work with you in your new role.
