Students, trade unions work together on Loud Thunder project

On Friday, May 11, Loud Thunder Forest Preserve hosted a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the newly remodeled and ADA accessible restrooms near the Martin-Parchert Picnic Pavilion. Local 25 retiree Matt Bowman, instructor for the Highway Construction Careers Training Program at Black Hawk College, attended with Local 25 Training Coordinator Matt Lienen.

The project was a collaboration among Black Hawk students and five area trades: Local 25, Laborers Local 309, Cement Masons Local 18, Carpenters Local 166 and Bricklayers Local 6. Read more about it here!
